唐代の陵墓に玄室を守る神将として納められていたもの。
踏みつけているのはヒンズー教の聖獣である牛。
日本に伝わって十二神将の原型になったといわれています。
顔と手は釉薬ではなく顔料で彩色されていましたが、
剥落しています。

This sansai figure was stored in the grave room as the Heavenly General to guard the burial chamber.
It has monster figures on the arms,
this is a character of Tang heavenly general.
The face and head were covered with pigment at first,
however, it had been coming off for a long time.
It was exported to Japan in China reform and open era 1980s.
