18th century midddle Edo period
Kokutani( old kutani) Nanjin style polychrome plates depicting flowers and bird 5 pieces set
Accessory ; wooden box (56-28)

It became to clear that the Kokutani ( Old kutani) pieces were made in Imari region , ahead of the domain of Kaga where the Kutani ware has been made.
These plates were made as the model of Nanjin polychrome ware that were very popular at the time, so they are called "Nanjin style". Although they have seal mark "大明成化年製”, they were not made in China, just brand name.
